For job shops, machine shops and engineering firms

Quote to paid, in one place.

Your clients send requests and files through your portal. You quote, and they accept online. You track every order through your shop, then invoice and get paid by card or bank transfer. It's one record from the first request to the last payment.

A Tablinum order: two lines moving through their steps, with the amount billed, the balance and what's been paid beside them.

One order, start to finish

  1. Request. Your client starts an order in your portal and attaches drawings and part files.
  2. Quote. You price each line: fixed price, hourly with a cap, or a materials allowance. You send it.
  3. Accept. Your client accepts online. You both get a signed acceptance record.
  4. Make and ship. Each line moves through your own steps. Your client sees where it stands.
  5. Invoice and get paid. Bill by milestone or on delivery. Your client pays by card or bank transfer.

Two sides of one record

Your clients get a portal.

They start orders, upload files, accept quotes, watch progress, download packing slips and pay invoices: no phone tag, no lost attachments. Your clients never pay for a login.

A client's view of an order: a progress bar from Request received to Shipped, the quote, and an Approve & pay deposit button.

Your team gets one place to work.

Every order, quote, invoice and hour is in one list and one board. No more copying a job from email into a spreadsheet and then into QuickBooks.

The orders board: cards for each order in columns from Draft to Accepted.

Get paid without chasing

Payment schedules are set on the quote: a deposit on acceptance, progress payments, or the balance on delivery. Invoices come from the schedule or from the hours and costs you've logged. Clients pay online by card or US bank transfer. Checks you record by hand. Sales tax comes from maintained state rate tables. "Who owes me" shows every open balance by age. Invoices, payments and credit notes go to QuickBooks Online, where your books stay.

Built for shops that make things for other people

Machine shops, fabricators, 3D-print bureaus, finishers, and design-and-build engineering firms, from a handful of people to about fifty. If you run on QuickBooks, spreadsheets and email today, Tablinum is the rest of the system.

Your clients and your shop floor never pay for a login

Clients use your portal free, however many you have. Shop-floor logins are free too. We'll never cap your orders, invoices or clients.
